Russel turns profit on low imports, despite oil
Declining Canadian imports boosted domestic service centre chain Russel Metals’ bottom line in the second quarter, though it was partially offset by continuing weakness in the oil and gas sector.
Russel posted net income in Q2 of CAD 16 million ($12.3m) on sales of CAD 624m, Kallanish reports. In Q2 2015, Russel also earned a net income of CAD 16m on sales of CAD 761m.
