Shandong's Rizhao starts concast construction

Shandong Iron & Steel Company’s Rizhao steelworks project, on China’s east coast, began building two continuous casters on 1 June, according to local media. The two casters will produce 1,950mm slab, Kallanish notes. The Rizhao site will have 8.5 million tonnes/year steelmaking capacity after the completion of construction and will focus on hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil and plate for automotive, white goods and shipbuilding.
