Rizhao hot tests caster after upgrade
Rizhao Iron & Steel this week has successfully hot tested an online width-adjusting continuous caster, Kallanish notes. This technology is widely used in Chinese steel mills to produce slabs more flexibly.
The width of the slab produced by this caster can be reduced from 1,610mm to 1,540mm. This enables greater choice when processing slab into hot rolled strip.
