Rio Tinto receives Canadian government funds for decarbonisation
The Canadian government will provide funding to Rio Tinto Iron Ore Company to support the decarbonisation of iron ore processing at its Labrador West operation, Kallanish discovers from a Rio Tinto press release.
The Canadian government awarded CAD 18.1 million ($13.4 million) to Rio Tinto’s Iron Ore Company (IOC) of Canada. This represents about 25% of the total cost of the project, with IOC funding the balance.
