Reliance sees plate softness as relative
The recent weakness in US plate pricing is natural and expected, and it represent more of a settling than a true fall, says Reliance Steel & Aluminum ceo Jim Hoffman during the company’s first-quarter conference call.
In response to an analyst question about softness in the domestic plate market, Hoffman says that demand is strong and pricing is moving into a more realistic range.
