Chinese plan for waste import ban alarms recyclers
Major recycling organisations have expressed their concern over an import restriction planned by the Chinese government on waste and, potentially, secondary raw materials.
Last week, the Bureau of International Recycling BIR and BIR EuRIC (European Recycling Industries' Confederation) sent a statement to the Chinese environment ministry on the matter. German scrap recyclers’ federation BDSV subsequently expressed its support.
