Rebar spot prices stabilise in the US
Rebar's spot pricing in US markets appears unchanged this week after prices fell by $20/short ton in mid-September. Currently, prices are hovering just below the $900/st threshold, which had previously held since late 2021.
"Not much has fundamentally changed, but the market in general is weakening. ... Scrap prices are sliding and [construction] demand is slowing down," suggests a northeastern rebar distributor.
