Rebar drives Iran apparent consumption growth
Iranian apparent finished steel consumption rose 16% on-year in the five months through 21 August to 8.39 million tonnes, driven by a 34% surge in long products use, according to the Iranian Steel Producers’ Association (ISPA). Flats consumption grew 14%.
Rebar consumption rose 39% to 3.28mt and sections use increased 21% to 458,000t. Hot rolled flats use was 3.85mt, cold rolled coil 1.21mt and coated sheet 679,000t.
