Raspadskaya's revenue fall on low prices, restrictions
Russian coking coal miner Raspadskaya, part of Evraz, saw its revenue decline in the first half of 2023 by 27% on-year to $1.22 billion. Profitability fell 13 percentage points to 26%, Kallanish notes.
Ebitda decreased by 59% on-year to $432 million. Raspadskaya's profit more than halved to $314 million, down from $662m in H1 2022.
The volume of production of raw coal of all grades amounted to 8.9 million tonnes, compared with 10.1mt in 1H 2022.
