Qatar Steel posts first-quarter shipments, production increase
Industries Qatar (IQ)'s steel segment saw production and deliveries rise on-year in the first quarter by 17% and 12%, respectively. However, the average sales price at $566/tonne decreased by 13%, resulting in Q1 revenue inching down 6% on-year to QAR 1.22 billion ($337.36 million), Kallanish understands.
Net profit of the segment, comprising Qatar Steel, was QAR 134m, down 49% on-year from QAR 261m recorded in Q1 2022.
