Qatar Steel increases rebar exports, diversifies raw materials
Qatari domestic rebar consumption declined to 1.1 million tonnes in 2018, prompting around 45% of Qatari rebar production to be sold for export outside the Gulf Cooperation Council, according to Qatar Steel (Qasco). Very little rebar was sold in the GCC due to the Saudi-led blockade of Qatar.
