Qatar Steel orders EAF modernisation
US-based Inteco PTI has received an order from Qatar Steel for the equipment supply, start-up and commissioning of a SwingDoor technology package for the steelmaker’s existing electric arc furnace in Doha, Kallanish notes.
The new SwingDoor will help improve foamy slag control by keeping the slag door closed for almost the entire heat, enabling less energy loss and more yield conservation, Inteco PTI says.
