PSM shutdown overshadows Pakistani private mills' performance: bank
The shutdown since June 2015 of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) due to unpaid gas bills has “…completely overshadowed” the performance of Pakistan’s private steel industry, which saw 6% growth in July 2015-March 2016. So says the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
In the nine months through March 2016 steelmakers were supported by construction activities in the private sector and increased public spending on infrastructure projects.
