Primetals to modernise Zenith Steel billet caster
UK-headquartered Primetals Technologies tells Kallanish that it has bagged a contract to upgrade a billet caster for Zenith Steel in eastern China.
The technology supplier will modernise a 10-strand billet caster in Zenith’s converter steelmaking plant No 3 in Changzhou. The designed capacity of this caster is 2 million tonnes/year. It can produce billet with a cross section of 160x160mm at a maximum casting speed of 2.4 metres/minute. …
