Price hikes unlikely till 2020, says Irepas
With steel prices on a downward trend following the drop in iron ore and coking coal prices, there is little scope for price hikes because there is insufficient growth in steel demand. So says the International Rebar Exporters and Producers Association (Irepas) in its monthly market report sent to Kallanish.
Moreover, the new base prices for iron ore and coking coal allow some companies to run prices at below $400/tonne without incurring losses.
