Port Hedland sets records with highest-ever monthly exports
Australia’s Port Hedland smashed several records for its iron ore shipments in December, Kallanish notes. The Pilbara, Western Australian port saw monthly cargoes surge to the highest-ever as shipments to China did likewise. Exports to Japan were also the highest since May 2016.
Cargoes to China from Port Hedland in December rose to 39,087,434 tonnes, and a monthly all-time record. The average daily shipment volume to China was also a record at 1,260,885t.…
