Port Hedland iron ore exports surge in May
Australia’s Port Hedland saw iron ore exports surge month-on-month in May as the cargoes to China rose to the highest so far in 2019, Kallanish notes. Total volumes despatched were also the highest of the year so far.
Cargoes to China from Port Hedland in Mayl were 37,829,237 tonnes versus 34,618,007t in April or 9.3% more. Average daily shipments to China were 1,220,298t versus 1,153,934t in April and 1,205,449t in May 2018.
