Port Hedland iron ore exports hit 2018 high
Australia’s Port Hedland saw iron ore shipments increase again year-on-year in May 2018, Kallanish notes. The Pilbara, Western Australian shipping terminal saw cargoes also rise strongly from April to once again hit the highest volume so far this year.
May cargoes to China were just over one million tonnes lower on-year with shipments grossing 36,999,705 tonnes compared to 38,002,474t during the same month in 2017.
