German waterway issues hit plate and scrap movements

Low water levels on the Rhine and other major German waterways are continuing to be a feature, with no significant rainfall being forecast for the coming days. Strip production at thyssenkrupp Steel and longs production by Arcelor Mittal, both in Duisburg, have been reduced as a consequence of a massive supply shortage of raw materials normally transported on the Rhine.
