Peru`s SHP miners strike, halt production
Miners at Peru's sole iron ore producer Shougang Hierro Peru (SHP) began an indefinite strike on 18 September, Kallanish learns from a statement issued by the company.
The management and representative of the miners’ union Sindicato de Obreros Mineros de SHP have held a meeting. Negotiations to resolve the ongoing labour issues over the new collective agreement however have not been successful, SHP says.
