Peru's SHP miners declare a strike
Miners at Peru's sole iron ore producer Shougang Hierro Peru (SHP) will begin an indefinite strike on 17 December, Kallanish learns from a statement issued by the company.
The management and representative of the miners’ union Sindicato de Obreros Mineros de SHP have held a meeting. Negotiations to resolve the ongoing labour issues over the new collective agreement however have not been successful, SHP says.
