Peru’s iron ore output rises sequentially in May
Peruvian iron ore production grew again month-on-month in May. Five-month performance also remained higher on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to the latest Peruvian mines and energy ministry (Minem) report, iron ore output reached 1.06 million tonnes in May, 3.1% more over April. No year-on-year comparison is provided since the country’s production was temporarily halted in the same period in 2020 due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
