Peabody prepares to explore Goonyella mine
US-based coking coal producer Peabody Energy has begun its re-entry into Zone 1 of its North Goonyella Mine in Queensland, Australia, Kallanish learns from a company release.
In September, Peabody noted elevated gas levels in the mine which were later determined to be part of a longwall fire. The company began reventilation of the mine in May.
