Paul Wurth wins Posco furnace charging system contract
Steel industry plant and equipment supplier Paul Wurth tells Kallanish that it has won an order from South Korean steelmaker Posco to replace the charging system on one of its blast furnaces in Pohang.
In February 2017, Posco will reline its blast furnace no 3 at its Pohang works. Since 1989, this furnace has been operating a Central Feed type Bell Less Top system, originally supplied by IHI of Japan, a Paul Wurth licensee.
