Pakistan's imported scrap prices rise, market awaits budget
Imported scrap offers in the Pakistani market have increased by $4-6/tonne this week due to steady demand.
Offers for UK/EU-origin shredded scrap are reported to be at around $421-425/t cfr Pakistan, notes Kallanish.
This price rise is attributed to increased freight rates and restocking by a few mills ahead of the Eid holidays. However, most buyers are waiting for the upcoming budget announcement on 12 June, according to market participants.
