Pakistan scrap jumps on post-holiday buying, tax reforms
Pakistan's imported scrap prices have risen by $5-10/tonne on week. Current offers for EU/UK-origin shredded scrap are at $427-430/t, while US-origin scrap is priced at $422-425/t cfr Pakistan, notes Kallanish.
This price increase is attributed to buyers resuming purchases after the Eid holidays in June and sales tax reforms announced in the fiscal budget starting 1 July.
