Pakistan economic slowdown hampers ISL sales, CRC rises
International Steels Limited (ISL) reported a -3% on-year dip in sales in the fiscal year through June 2019 (FY19) to 525,000 tonnes. This was brought on by the Pakistani economic slowdown and the influx of low-priced imports from China and Russia, ISL says.
The sales decline was driven by a -11% fall in hot-dip galvanized coil sales to 307,500t. Cold rolled coil, sales, however, rose 11.8% to 217,500t. Exports fell -25% to 34,700t.
