Mexican crude steel output grows in July despite Ahmsa cutbacks
Mexico’s crude steel production in July increased by 2.4% year-on-year to 1.5 million tonnes. The country’s output year-to-date fell by -3.5% to 10.8mt compared to the same period in 2014, when it reached 11.1mt, Kallanish learns from the World Steel Association.
Meanwhile, a -20% reduction in both output and workforce announced early in June by Mexican flats maker Altos Hornos de Mexico (Ahmsa), is starting to have an effect on the supply chain.…
