Oil prices boost steel prospects in MENA

Worldsteel has revised down its forecast for Middle East and North Africa finished steel demand to 4.3% on-year in 2022, giving 68 million tonnes. This compares to the association’s estimate last October of 69.9mt demand for 2022. Demand in 2021 was at 65.2mt, up 3.2% on 2020.
