Nucor reduces plate prices by $40/st
Nucor has decreased its prices for as-rolled discrete and normalised steel plates by $40/short ton, Kallanish learns from a company price adjustment letter.
The adjustment applies to new orders as of 1 September. The company opened its books for October orders. The notice explains that Nucor has the right to review unconfirmed offers.
“We expected it to be about $40-60 lower. Business is terrible,” a plate distributor says.
