NSSMC targets $96/t price hike
Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) says it is targeting an increase of JPY 10,000/tonne ($96/t) on all its steel prices in order to cover higher coking coal costs. The extent to which it will be able to pass all of its increase raw material costs onto producers amid tepid demand remains in doubt, however, Kallanish notes.
