NSSMC sees frustrations continue into 2016
Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) expects to produce about as much in the year ending March 2017 as it will this year. This is despite a boost to demand ahead of a tax hike in April 2017, it says. It adds that it will prioritise energy and cost saving investments after stubbornly high domestic inventories suggested little need for more capacity.
