NSSMC delays blast furnace closure
Japan’s Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) has delayed the planned shutdown of a blast furnace at its Yawata steelworks until 2020. The company says delays and higher costs at a project required to concentrate production at another blast furnace were to blame, Kallanish notes.
