NMDC reduces iron ore prices amid plunging demand
Owing to continuously falling finished steel demand and prices, Indian state-run miner NMDC has dropped its iron ore prices for January domestic deliveries.
NMDC reduced quotes by INR 300/tonne ($4/t) and INR 500/t for 65.5% Fe, 6-40mm lump ore and 64% Fe up to 10mm fines, respectively.
The miner has pegged its 65.5% Fe, 6-40mm lump ore, and 64% Fe up to 10mm fines prices at INR 4,900/t and INR 4,060/t respectively, Kallanish notes.
