Nippon Steel sees higher earnings while steel sales drop
Japan’s Nippon Steel has reported higher earnings for the fiscal year 2022 (FY22), ending in March this year. Its annual non-consolidated steel production and sales however dropped over FY21, according to its own annual reports.
The company produced 34.25 million tonnes of crude steel on a non-consolidated basis in FY22, down 11.5% year-on-year. Meanwhile, annual steel shipments dropped at the same pace to 31.47mt, of which 43% by value was exported, Kallani…
