Nippon Steel restarts blast furnaces on demand
With the gradual recovery of domestic steel demand, Japanese steel producer Nippon Steel has announced it will restart another blast furnace to increase production, Kallanish notes.
Nippon Steel says it will restart the No.1 blast furnace in Kashima, Ibaraki Prefecture in eastern Japan in late January next year. The steelmaker halted this furnace in April 2020.
