Nippon Steel eyes new steel mill in India
Japan’s Nippon Steel aims to build a second steel mill in India under its joint venture with ArcelorMittal, AMNS India, to expand Indian market share, Kallanish notes.
“Under consideration are plans to expand the capacity of AMNS India, which includes the construction of a second steel mill,” says Nippon Steel president Eiji Hashimoto. Capacity would be increased from the current 7.6 million tonnes/year to 14m t/y.
