Nippon Steel earnings confidence lifts as profit grows

Nippon Steel returned to profit on a consolidated basis in the first fiscal quarter through June, compared to net losses in the same period last year. The Japanese steelmaker reported quarterly production of 10.04 million tonnes of pig iron and 11.88mt of crude steel, up 32.8% and 43.1% on-year respectively.
