Nippon Steel closes Kure Area of Setouchi Works
Japanese steelmaker Nippon Steel completely shut down all equipment and operations at the Kure Area of the Setouchi Works last week.
The main reason for closing Kure Area is low domestic steel demand, Kallanish notes. After completing the last batch of shipments last Thursday, Nippon Steel brought forward the stoppage of Kure Area from the expected end of September to mid-September.
