Nickel Asia’s net income falls on lower prices
Philippine mining firm Nickel Asia’s net income in the first half was down 55% on-year on lower nickel prices, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a statement that it recorded H1 net income of PHP 1.7 billion ($30.32 million), down from PHP 3.8 billion a year ago. This was dragged down by lower nickel ore prices due to the growth in Indonesian nickel production and the slowdown in the Chinese economy.
