Nickel Asia posts higher nickel sales in 1Q
Philippine miner Nickel Asia’s operating mines sold a combined 2.61 million wet metric tons (wmt) of nickel ore in the first quarter ended 31 March, slightly higher than last year’s 2.39 million wmt, Kallanish notes.
The firm says in a statement that its net income fell to PHP 202 million ($3.52m) in the first quarter, from PHP 970m a year ago, dragged by lower nickel prices.
