Nickel approaches local low, still up on-year
Nickel prices fell ahead of the Christmas holiday to $16,913/tonne, cash buyer - representing a two-week trough but still significantly ahead of its early December price, Kallanish learns from the London Metal Exchange.
Nickel prices have been decreasing since 15 December, when they hit a local high of $17,650/t.
That marks the end of a significant run-up that had been on-going since 2 December, when prices reached a local low of $15,850/t.
