Far Eastern ship steel plant unprofitable, says association
The Russian Steel Association has doubts about the feasibility of Rosneft building a new steel plant in the Far East, it tells Kallanish.
The goal of the plant is to provide feedstock for the needs of the Zvezda shipbuilding yard (see Kallanish passim). The head of the oil company, Igor Sechin, announced the decision to build the plant at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on 26 November.
