Local government caps Nanjing winter steel output
Steelmakers in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing have been ordered to cut production by -15% over the winter in order to combat air pollution, the local government has announced. The measure comes close to making forced cutbacks an annual feature of the city, which has had serious issues with pollution in the past two years, Kallanish notes.
