Nangang signs Indonesian coke plant contract
China’s Nanjing Iron and Steel (Nangang) has signed a contract to build a coke plant in Indonesia, Kallanish notes.
The joint venture has been named PT. Kinrui New Energy Technologies Indonesia (KNETI), with a design capacity of 2.6 million tonnes/year of metallurgical coke. The total investment amounts to $383.48 million. The plant will be located at the Morowali Industrial Park in Central Sulawesi, which also houses the Tsingshan stainless steelworks.
