MTE cheers WTO decision regarding China's market status
The Manufacturers for Trade Enforcement (MTE) lobbying group is praising a World Trade Organization (WTO) ruling that will prevent China from automatically gaining market economy status, Kallanish understands.
China stood to be classified as a market economy automatically at the end of this year, as a consequence of 15 years of membership in the WTO. China’s status will now be put to a vote by WTO member countries.
