MMK produces import-substituting steel for Kamaz
Russia’s MMK has started the production of spar steel for leading domestic truck-maker Kama, in order to replace imported products, the steelmaker confirms to Kallanish.
According to the results of vibration and crash tests, the product showed the same high performance as parts from foreign partners, the enterprise claims.
Kamaz plans to produce 10,000 cab frames in 2024–2025, using this steel grade.
