MMK expects sluggish first quarter
Russian vertically-integrated steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel (MMK) expects its finished product sales to remain under pressure in the first quarter due to seasonal demand weakness and low sales prices in the global market. But these factors will be offset somewhat by a higher domestic sales share amid lower supply from other mills, and full capacity utilisation of high-margin assets, including mill-500, MMK says.
