Middle East first-half DRI output shrinks
Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Iran's combined direct reduced iron output in June was down 1.4% on-year but almost flat versus May at 4.07 million tonnes.
The Middle East’s combined DRI output in January-June was down 4.1% on-year to 21.04mt from 21.93mt in H1 2022. In H1, world DRI output was recorded at 56.9mt, of which the Middle East comprised 36.9%, according to worldsteel data seen by Kallanish.
