Middle East crude steel production climbs in May
Middle Eastern countries, comprising ten producing nations, saw a slight increase in their crude steel production in May, with minor exceptions. Combined production rose by 2.9% on-month and 4.6% on-year to reach 5.21 million tonnes, Kallanish notes from worldsteel data.
In the first five months of the year (Jan-May), the region's combined output increased by 7.7% on-year to 23.97mt from 22.26mt a year earlier.
